Iran launched rocket fire at Israel on Sunday, prompting the Home Front Command to impose nationwide restrictions on Monday and Tuesday, including the closure of all educational institutions, workplace limitations, and reduced public transportation. Iran announced later the same day that it was halting its military operation against Israel after delivering what it called a "painful response," marking the first exchange of fire since a truce took effect in April. The Home Front Command moved all defense areas to a state of "restricted activity" from Sunday at 10 p.m. until Monday at 8 p.m., with regular situation assessments planned. All schools, universities, and educational institutions across the country were ordered closed, including matriculation exams that were postponed. Workplaces may only operate in buildings with accessible protected spaces, and public gatherings are limited to 200 people in open areas and 500 in enclosed spaces. Hospitals were instructed to operate under "sealed guidelines" and prepare for rapid transition to full emergency operations. Public transportation continued at approximately 75% capacity, while Ben-Gurion Airport remained open but authorities were considering reducing passenger numbers. Food chains, pharmacies, and essential services continued operating normally. Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya military command stated in a televised announcement that it had delivered a sufficient response and was halting operations, but warned that any continued aggression, including from southern Lebanon, would prompt "much more severe and crushing measures." The Tourism Ministry opened an emergency operations center to coordinate housing for residents whose homes may be damaged, with 27,165 tourists currently in the country. El Al announced that passengers with flights scheduled through June 13 would be eligible for free postponements or future flight vouchers.
