Anthropic apologizes and offers discounted AI access after Pentagon supply chain ban

After the Pentagon designation, CEO Dario Amodei published a statement repeatedly using the administration's "Department of War" phrasing, apologized for a leaked internal post, said Anthropic has been negotiating with the Defense Department, offered its models at nominal cost with engineer support during any transition, and said it will challenge the designation in court.
