Apple reveals M5 MacBook Air and upgraded MacBook Pro lineup

Apple launched a refreshed MacBook Air with the M5 chip and upgraded MacBook Pros with M5 Pro and M5 Max, boosting base storage and performance while raising starting prices and adding Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.

  • Preorders begin March 4 and the new Macs arrive in stores March 11.
  • The MacBook Air now uses the M5 chip, comes with 512GB base storage and up to 4TB, and Apple says its SSD is 2x faster than the previous generation.
  • The M5 MacBook Air adds Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 and costs $100 more, starting at $1,099 for the 13-inch and $1,299 for the 15-inch.
