Bahrain and Saudi F1 races set to be cancelled

Mar 13th 2026

Sources say the April Bahrain and Jeddah Grands Prix will likely be cancelled over regional hostilities and logistical constraints, while the WEC moves its Qatar race to October.

  • Bahrain (April 12) and Saudi Arabia (Jeddah, April 19) Grands Prix are expected to be called off because of the Middle East conflict.
  • A March 20 freight deadline for shipping race equipment to Bahrain reduces the chance of rescheduling the events.
  • If not replaced, the cancellations would reduce the 2026 Formula One calendar to 22 rounds.
  • The World Endurance Championship has moved its Qatar round at Lusail to October 24 and will open the season at Imola on April 19.
  • MotoGP’s Qatar round on April 12 is also likely to be cancelled amid the same security concerns.
