A close aide told Anadolu on Sunday that former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is alive and unharmed after a building tied to his security detail was hit and three bodyguards were killed.

- A building linked to his security detail was struck and three of his bodyguards who were members of the IRGC were killed, the aide said.
- Ahmadinejad’s residence was not targeted and is about 100 meters from the damaged building, the source added.
- The statements come amid joint US-Israeli attacks aimed at Iran’s senior leadership and military infrastructure.
- Earlier reports had claimed Ahmadinejad was killed in an Israeli-US airstrike.
