House subpoenas Pam Bondi over release of Epstein files

Mar 17th 2026

The House Oversight Committee has formally subpoenaed Pam Bondi to testify about the Justice Department's handling and release of Jeffrey Epstein related files amid allegations of improper redactions and exposure of survivors.

  • Pam Bondi was subpoenaed to appear for a deposition on April 14 before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
  • The subpoena says the committee has questions about the Justice Department's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation and its compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
  • Lawmakers have alleged some disclosures exposed survivors and that the DOJ improperly withheld or redacted material, including names of people who may have committed crimes.
  • The subpoena followed a March 4 committee vote in which five Republicans joined Democrats to authorize issuing the subpoena.
  • The Department of Justice called the subpoena unnecessary, saying lawmakers have been invited to view unredacted files and that Bondi and DOJ officials have been available for briefings.
