Hozier, Jessie Buckley and Bruce Springsteen join Shane MacGowan tribute album

A star-studded compilation of Shane MacGowan covers, featuring Bruce Springsteen, Hozier with Jessie Buckley, Tom Waits and others, will arrive in November with half of artist royalties donated to the Dublin Simon Community.

  • Bruce Springsteen contributed an essay and recalled visiting MacGowan shortly before his 2023 death at 65.
  • The record includes a duet by Hozier and Jessie Buckley and a duet by Johnny Depp and Imelda May.
  • Artists confirmed include Tom Waits, Primal Scream, Steve Earle, David Gray, The Libertines, The Jesus and Mary Chain and The Pogues.
  • Victoria Mary Clarke, MacGowan's wife, oversaw the project and thanked the contributing musicians.
  • Fifty percent of artist royalties will go to the Dublin Simon Community, a charity for people sleeping rough in Dublin.
