Prime Minister Narendra Modi told Parliament that India’s economic fundamentals and targeted government measures will limit disruption from the Iran war while New Delhi pursues diplomatic engagement and secures energy supplies.

The government has moved to secure petrol, diesel, LPG and strategic petroleum reserves to limit supply disruptions.
New Delhi has facilitated the return of about 375,000 citizens since the conflict began, including roughly 1,000 from Iran.
India maintains trade ties with both warring and affected countries and is pursuing diplomatic contacts to seek a peaceful resolution.
Indian markets fell early on Monday with the Sensex down about 2.6% and the Nifty 50 down about 2.8%, erasing roughly Rs 11.78 trillion in early trade.
