Israeli settlers attack West Bank villages; one Palestinian killed and livestock seized
Mar 14th 2026
Settler attacks in Qusra and Rashayda left one Palestinian dead, several injured and over 100 sheep taken, part of a wider surge of violence in the occupied West Bank.
- In Qusra a 28-year-old Palestinian, Amir Moatasem Odeh, was shot dead and two other residents were injured.
- In Rashayda near Bethlehem five Palestinians were wounded, including two by gunfire, and more than 100 sheep were seized by attackers.
- A day earlier settlers burned down a local poultry barn, completely destroying the farmer's stock.
- The Israeli military said civilians fired toward Palestinians, one Israeli was wounded, and two Israeli civilians and three Palestinians were detained.
- At the Beit Iksa checkpoint soldiers shot 43-year-old Ahmad Khalil Saleh and local sources say his 20-year-old son was severely beaten.
- The incidents come amid a surge in West Bank violence with at least five Palestinians killed since March, an AFP tally showing more than 1,045 killed since October 7, 2023, and rights groups and the UN reporting that prosecutions for such attacks are rare.
