Las Vegas accepts Canadian dollars at par to boost tourism
Mar 6th 2026
Three downtown casinos are offering one-to-one CAD pricing on rooms, drinks and slot play through Aug 31, 2026 to attract Canadian visitors amid a tourism slowdown.
- The Vegas At Par program runs Feb 6 through Aug 31, 2026 and is available only to Canadian tourists.
- Participating downtown properties are Circa Resort & Casino, the D Las Vegas, and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, all owned by Derek Stevens.
- These venues accept Canadian dollars at a one-to-one rate for rooms, select bars and promotional slot play to increase Canadian buying power.
- With the Canadian dollar around $0.73 USD, the program can cut hundreds of Canadian dollars from typical costs, for example saving about CA$72 on a $200 USD room.
- Stevens reported about 15,000 Canadian visitors in the first 30 days as the city seeks to counter a broader tourism decline.
