Mexico City launches Xoli chatbot to guide World Cup visitors
Mar 22nd 2026 · Mexico
The Mexico City government has launched Xoli, a 24/7 WhatsApp chatbot in English and Spanish to help World Cup visitors and to promote tourism and public services year round.
- Xoli is a WhatsApp chatbot available in English and Spanish to provide information on services, tourism, and culture in Mexico City.
- The bot operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can be reached by starting a WhatsApp chat with 55 6565 9395 and sending the word Hola.
- Users choose a language and can access menus for culture, tourism, gastronomy, mobility or ask free‑form questions.
- A dedicated 2026 World Cup section will list special events, match details, public broadcasts and ticket purchase options.
- Xoli was developed by the citys Digital Agency for Public Innovation together with the local Ministries of Tourism and Culture and will remain active after the tournament to support local economic activity and access to services.
- Mexico City says the tool will help map thousands of daily cultural and tourist activities, cited as about 3,000 a day and up to 5,000 in peak seasons.
- The launch complements federal Mexico 2026 initiatives such as the Conoce México app and a regulated ticket resale platform, while some studies warn the World Cup may strain services and cause environmental impacts not fully addressed yet.
