A global survey of 23,000 people in 29 countries finds Gen Z men hold the most traditional gender views of any generation, with nearly one third saying wives should always obey their husbands.

Survey by Ipsos and the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership at King’s College London questioned 23,000 people in 29 countries.
31% of Gen Z men say a wife should always obey her husband, compared with 13% of Baby boomer men.
18% of Gen Z women agree a wife should obey her husband, versus 6% of Baby boomer women.
Many young men overestimate social expectations, with 17% saying women should do care work but 35% saying society expects it.
61% of young men say enough has been done for gender equality and 57% feel men are now discriminated against.
Researchers say social media algorithms amplify extreme gender messaging and help spread traditional gender norms.
