The Pentagon released a second batch of declassified UFO files Friday, adding to the initial trove unveiled two weeks earlier under a presidential directive from President Trump. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the documents, officially dealing with "unidentified anomalous phenomena," have fueled speculation for decades and that it is time for Americans to see them for themselves. The release included 222 files containing 6 PDFs, 7 audio files, and 51 video files. Among the newly disclosed materials is a 116-page document detailing a series of sightings and investigations at a secret military facility in Sandia, New Mexico, between 1948 and 1950. The file documents 209 reports of "green orbs," "discs," and "fireballs" observed near the base, with some investigations related to Project Grudge, a brief U.S. Air Force study into UFO sightings from 1949. The Pentagon also released a report from a U.S. intelligence officer who described seeing "two large orbs flare up" near his helicopter in late 2025, with the orange oval-shaped objects later appearing over nearby fighter jets before forming a triangle and vanishing. The Pentagon's dedicated website for housing these files has received over 1 billion hits since the first release on May 8. A third batch of documents is being actively worked on and will be announced soon, according to Defense Department spokesperson Sean Parnell. Trump ordered the disclosure of federal materials related to alien life and UAPs in February, accusing previous administrations of seeking to discredit and discourage Americans from learning about the phenomena.
