Singer and songwriter d4vd, whose real name is David Burke, has been arrested on suspicion of murder for the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose dismembered body was found in the trunk of a Tesla registered in the singer's name last year, the Los Angeles Police Department announced Thursday. The 21-year-old Los Angeles resident is being held without bail and will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office on Monday, April 20, for formal charges. The arrest comes after Burke was the target of a grand jury investigation in connection with Hernandez's death. The decomposed remains of Hernandez were discovered on September 8, 2025, in the trunk of a Tesla parked in a Hollywood tow lot after authorities responded to reports of a foul smell attracting flies. According to court records, investigators found a decomposed head and torso inside a cadaver bag in the vehicle, with additional dismembered body parts stored in another bag. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department confirmed that Hernandez had been reported missing from Lake Elsinore over a year earlier, with her last known sighting occurring on April 5, 2024, when she left her home at 9 p.m. The singer was on his Withered 2025 World Tour when the teenager's identity was released, prompting him to cancel his Seattle show the same day and subsequent performances. Earlier, d4vd's friend Neo Langston was arrested for failing to appear as a witness before the grand jury investigating the murder.
