Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu concluded smoothly on Thursday, April 23, 2026, with polling ending at 6 p.m. across multiple districts including Erode and Tiruchi. In Erode district alone, eight constituencies held elections with a total of 11,420 polling personnel, 67 micro-observers, and 1,052 police personnel deployed, while an additional 2,900 police personnel and Central Armed Police Forces provided security at polling stations. Officials reported a steady voter turnout with proceedings remaining largely peaceful throughout the day, though brief delays occurred in early hours and isolated instances of Electronic Voting Machines developing snags were reported. Following the close of polling, election materials including Electronic Voting Machines and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail units were packed and transported to two counting centers in Erode district. Materials from six constituencies, including Erode (East), Erode (West), Modakkurichi, Bhavani, Perundurai, and Anthiyur, were moved to the Government College of Engineering in Chithode, while materials from Gobichettipalayam and Bhavanisagar (R) were transported to the Government Arts and Science College in Gobichettipalayam.
