Feb 28th 2026

Türkiye’s flag carrier canceled multiple Middle Eastern routes through March 2, 2026 after regional airspace closures following a joint Israel U.S. attack on Iran and a U.S. declaration of major combat operations.

  • Turkish Airlines canceled flights to Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran and Jordan until March 2, 2026.
  • The airline also canceled routes to Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Oman for Feb. 28, 2026, and said further cancellations are possible.
  • Turkish Airlines said the moves respond to the closure of certain Middle Eastern airspace and advised passengers to check its website for updates.
  • The U.S. announced it began major combat operations against Iran, saying strikes hit targets across the country including Tehran and naming the campaign Operation Epic Fury.
  • Israel said strikes hit dozens of Iranian military targets, and Iran launched retaliatory missiles that were intercepted over parts of the region.
  • Several countries including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Syria and Iraq temporarily closed or restricted airspace amid the escalation.
