Uber is expanding its Women Preferences option across the US and more global cities, allowing women riders to request women drivers and letting women drivers choose to receive requests from women riders.

The feature expands nationwide today, covering cities including New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
Women riders can request women drivers on demand, reserve a woman driver in advance, or toggle a women-driver preference in app settings, though matches are not guaranteed.
Women drivers can opt in to receive trip requests from women riders to control how they earn.
Teen accounts in eligible cities can also request women drivers for on-demand and reserved trips.
Women Preferences now has drivers in over 40 countries and riders in seven countries, with more than 230 million trips since launch.
